Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 2

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 2

Day 2 – 1 John 5:14: “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” When we pray to God, we have confidence that He is near and cares about us in whatever we might be facing. God’s will is good and perfect and so we pray according to His will.

Bible Study: Psalm 121

Bible Study: Psalm 121

What do the Psalms from the Old Testament have to say to me today? How can words written so long ago in a different country and language apply to my life in the 21st century? Join Pastors Nathanael Mayhew and Joe Naumann as they take a look at Psalm 121 and show just how applicable it is for us, now! It still applies to us, because we still live in a sinful world, and because God doesn’t change. Where does our help come from? It comes from the LORD who made heaven and earth! Yes, these inspired words of the LORD still provide comfort for God’s people in the midst of crisis and tragedy.

Hymn Review: If God Himself Be For Me

Hymn Review: If God Himself Be For Me

Paul Gerhardt was among the foremost of all Lutheran hymnwriters, writing over 120 hymns. Gerhardt lived a very difficult life, suffering through the 30 years war in Europe, loosing four of his children and his wife to sickness and disease, and even suffering for his faith. Yet the promises of God were his source of strength throughout those difficult times. This hymn reminds us of the God who is for us too, and who is with us whatever we face in this life. Join Pastors Rob Sauers and Nathanael Mayhew as they consider a few verses from this comforting hymn based on Romans 8:31-39!
