Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 14

Day 14 – Psalm 86:5: “Indeed You, Lord, are good and forgiving and abounding in mercy to all who call to You.” (EHV) The Lord, the one true God, is love, He is forgiving, and He abounds in mercy – it overflows to sinners. This love, mercy and forgiving nature of God is most clearly displayed at the cross of Christ!

Day 13 – Psalm 27:4-5 “One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.” (NASB)

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 12

Day 12 – Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (NKJV) Part of our calling as Christians is to share with others what the Lord has offered to us. The best that we have been given is found in and through His Word. When we sow His Word, it will bring about results!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 10

Day 3 – Psalm 116:5-6: “For momentary, light affliction is producing for us more an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.” Sometimes it feels like we are being crushed by the trouble of this world. But the “affliction” that we face is temporary and light in comparison to what we have to look forward to in heaven because of Christ’s work for us! Thanks be to God!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 9

Day 9 – 1 Thessalonians 5:24: “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” This short passage at the very end of Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians is packed with comfort. God is faithful to the promises He makes. We can take it to the bank. He calls us and invites us to receive the blessings of His faithfulness!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 8

Day 7 – 2 Timothy 2:19: “Isaiah 25:1 O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You! I will praise Your name, because You have done astounding things, plans laid long ago that are firm and faithful.” The LORD is a God of power, who does what no one else is able to do. His will cannot be changed and is true. For this reason, we confess His name to the world!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 7

Day 7 – 2 Timothy 2:19: “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”” The Lord knows His own, and He cares for them, whatever they may face in this life. As His own, we are called to be different from the world.

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 6

Day 6 – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” Paul shares one of the reasons God offers us the comfort of found in His Son – to share that comfort with others!
