Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 18

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 18

Day 18 – “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD’S hand Double for all her sins” Isaiah 40:1-2 (NKJV). As we look back on Good Friday and Easter, we are reminded of what those event mean for the child of God. Sins forgiven. Comfort. Peace. The real kind!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 17

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 17

Day 17 – Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (ESV). God knows everything and wants what is best for us. Trust in Him, and His will for you, just as Jesus did in Gethsemane, knowing that God’s will is good and right!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 16

Day 16 – Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel.” (HCSB). Through the cross, God has forgiven our sins and made us His own. But He isn’t done yet! He also instructs the believer in what that means for him or her, and promises to be with us, watching over us and directing us through His Word of Truth.

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 15

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 15

Day 15 – Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God” (ESV). God is all powerful and He uses His power for judgment, but also for mercy. He uses His power for our good, and in perfect love for us!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 14

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 14

Day 14 – Psalm 86:5: “Indeed You, Lord, are good and forgiving and abounding in mercy to all who call to You.” (EHV) The Lord, the one true God, is love, He is forgiving, and He abounds in mercy – it overflows to sinners. This love, mercy and forgiving nature of God is most clearly displayed at the cross of Christ!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 13

Day 13 – Psalm 27:4-5 “One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.” (NASB)

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 12

Day 12 – Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (NKJV) Part of our calling as Christians is to share with others what the Lord has offered to us. The best that we have been given is found in and through His Word. When we sow His Word, it will bring about results!

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 10

Word of the Week: 40 Days of Hope – Day 10

Day 3 – Psalm 116:5-6: “For momentary, light affliction is producing for us more an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.” Sometimes it feels like we are being crushed by the trouble of this world. But the “affliction” that we face is temporary and light in comparison to what we have to look forward to in heaven because of Christ’s work for us! Thanks be to God!
