18. 2 Chronicles Summary Verse

In the book of 2 Chronicles we move on to the kings following the reign of Solomon. We see the LORD reveal the difference between the good and evil kings of both kingdoms. This book focuses on the importance of faithfulness to the LORD and the blessings that result from it from the hand of the LORD. Our summary verse is from 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. ” –  (NKJV)

What an important reminder in our lives today! Our summary verse is from Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” – (ESV)

Bible Study: Zephaniah

Bible Study: Zephaniah

What do you remember about the prophet Zephaniah? Many may know nothing more than his name. But the words of the prophet Zephaniah who ministered to the people of Judah during the reign of good king Josiah are also intended for us. Zephaniah proclaims the “day of the LORD” and His judgment against sin, especially that of idolatry. He reveals that we are just as guilty as the people of his day. But he also points to the grace of God and the joy of the one who trusts in His mercy through the coming Christ. Join us for this needed review of a valuable book!

13. Psalms Summary Verse

13. Psalms Summary Verse

We take a break from the historical books of the Old Testament to look at the hymnbook of God’s Old Testament people. Over half of these hymns were written by David and many more were written by others during David’s final years as king. These hymns point believers then and now to the power of the LORD and that we can and should put our trust and confidence in Him. Our summary verse comes from Psalm 27:13-14: “I am certain that I will see the LORD’s goodness in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be courageous and let your heart be strong. Wait for the LORD.” –  (NASB).
